Water softener and filter repair in Vancouver, WA.
Softener stopped softening? Filter tastes off again? We fix and service water softeners, whole-home filters, reverse osmosis and UV systems across Clark County, including most brands we didn't install. If it's worth fixing, we fix it. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too.
Softeners, filters, RO and UV.
- Most major brands — not just the systems we install
- Water softeners — salt bridges, resin failure, stuck or leaking valves, constant regeneration, a unit that just stopped working
- Whole-home filters — carbon media replacement and sediment filter changes
- Reverse osmosis — filter and membrane changes, slow flow, leaks, bad taste coming back
- UV systems on wells — lamp swaps and sleeve cleaning so it keeps doing its job
What usually goes wrong.
Most softener and filter problems come down to a handful of causes. Here's what we see most often in Clark County homes.
- Hard water is back, but there's salt in the tank. Often a salt bridge: a hard crust forms in the brine tank and the salt underneath never dissolves. Quick fix.
- Softener regenerates all the time, or never. Usually a valve setting, a bad meter or a worn control. We check the settings against your tested hardness.
- Water is soft for a day, then hard again. The resin may be worn out or fouled. On well water, iron coats the resin and kills it years early.
- Chlorine taste is back at the tap. The carbon in a whole-home filter is spent and needs new media.
- RO faucet is slow or tastes off. The filters or the membrane are due. Most RO units need filters about once a year.
We'll tell you straight.
- A salt bridge, a setting or a worn part is almost always worth fixing. We'll fix it and leave the system running.
- A softener with worn-out resin and an old valve is often not worth putting money into. We'll show you why and let you decide.
- On a well in Battle Ground, Brush Prairie, Hockinson or Ridgefield, a softener that keeps failing is usually missing iron treatment in front of it. Replacing the softener alone won't fix that. See well water treatment.
- On city water in Vancouver, Camas or Salmon Creek, chlorine slowly wears out softener resin. Carbon filtration in front of the softener makes it last longer.
If replacement is the honest answer: water softener installation
Keep it running instead of fixing it later.
Water treatment equipment doesn't need much, but it does need something. We set a simple schedule with you. No service contract required.
Yearly checkup
Check the brine tank and valve, confirm the settings still match your water, and test the hardness after the softener.
Filter changes
Prefilters about once a year, membrane every few years. A short visit, or we'll show you how to do it yourself.
Media and lamps
Carbon media replacement when it's spent, sediment filter changes, and a yearly UV lamp swap on well systems.
