Filtration for Vancouver water.
- Whole-home carbon filtration — chlorine taste and smell out of every tap and shower
- 7-stage reverse osmosis — PFAS, lead and nitrates at the kitchen tap
- Under-sink filters — for condos, townhomes and smaller homes
- Sized from your test — not a one-size system
- Installed by our own crew — not a subcontractor
Safe water. A few things worth filtering.
Vancouver city water meets the standards and the city publishes its results every year. Here's what people here usually want to filter, and what does it.
- Chlorine taste and smell. The city disinfects with 0.4–1.3 ppm chlorine. Whole-home carbon takes it out at every tap.
- PFAS. Water Stations 14, 4 and 9 have tested at or above state and federal limits. Reverse osmosis at the sink is the home fix while the city builds treatment.
- Lead from older plumbing. Not from the city supply, but from old fixtures and solder in some older homes. RO removes it.
- Fluoride. The city adds it. Carbon doesn't remove much. RO removes most of it, if that matters to you.
- Hardness. 55–130 ppm, about 3–8 grains per gallon. Filters don't remove it. A water softener does.
Vancouver water, by the numbers
- Source: all groundwater, from wells in the Orchards, Troutdale and Sand-and-Gravel aquifers, pumped from nine water stations.
- Treatment: chlorine 0.4–1.3 ppm, fluoride added.
- PFAS: granular activated carbon treatment starts at Water Station 14 in 2026 with a $12.5 million state loan. Stations 1 and 3 also need treatment.
- Outside city limits: Hazel Dell, Felida and Salmon Creek are mostly on Clark Public Utilities water: a trace of chlorine, no fluoride, about 87 ppm hardness.

Match the filter to the problem.
Rule of thumb: softener = the house, carbon = the taps, reverse osmosis = the glass. Most Vancouver homes on city water end up with carbon and RO, often with a softener.
Whole-home carbon
Chlorine taste and smell gone from every tap and shower. Protects a softener's resin too.
Reverse osmosis
PFAS, lead, nitrates and most dissolved solids out of the water you drink and cook with.
Under-sink filter
Better drinking water without a whole-home system. Installed in about an hour.
We cover all of Vancouver: downtown, Uptown Village, Cascade Park, Fisher's Landing, Orchards, Five Corners, Minnehaha, Hazel Dell, Felida and Salmon Creek. Already have a filter that isn't working? We do repair and service too.

“Really happy with the service from Genuine Water Co. They installed a water softener and reverse osmosis system in our home. The drinking water tastes great and we’ve noticed fewer water spots in the shower and on our dishes. They showed up on time, answered all of our questions, and did a clean installation.”
